Dr Sophie McGilvray is a Pain Medicine Physician and Palliative Care Specialist consulting at Bayside Pain Management, with a public appointment at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She is also working in the Acute Pain Service and Palliative Care at Epworth Richmond and Freemasons.
Sophie obtained her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Notre Dame in Sydney in 2012. She was invited to present her research at an International Palliative Care conference in 2022.
She had two publications in international pain journals in 2023.
Sophie has special interests in cancer pain, pain in cancer survivorship, perioperative and persistent post-surgical pain, pain reprocessing therapy and trauma-informed care in all chronic pain conditions.
